Zucchini vines produce two types of zucchini flower. The male is more delicate and has a thin stem, while the female is generally larger and has a sweeter stem. Flowers are about 4 inches long. They range in color from pale yellow to orange.
Directions
- Cook the rice in the vegetable broth with the salt.
- Cool a bit and mix in the cumin and pine nuts.
- Mix the egg yolk into the mixture.
- Gently open each zucchini flower, remove the stamen and fill with the rice mixture; twist the petals closed.
- Steam for 2–3 minutes and serve.
